Pathways in Technology Early College High School (P-TECH) at Cedars International Next Generation High School is an innovative, open-enrollment program designed to give students the opportunity to earn both a high school diploma and industry-recognized credentials or an associate degree. P-TECH is especially aimed at students who might face barriers to attending college, providing them with a clear pathway to success. With a strong focus on career readiness, the P-TECH model integrates work-based learning experiences, preparing students for in-demand careers in a range of industries. Our P-TECH program:
- Focuses on enrolling historically underserved, at-risk, and economically disadvantaged students, providing them with enhanced educational opportunities.
- Offers students in grades 9 through 12 a comprehensive course of study that blends high school and post-secondary education, enabling them to earn both a high school diploma and an associate degree, Level 1 or Level 2 certificate, or industry-based certification within six years.
- Provides students with age-appropriate, work-based learning opportunities at every grade level, including internships, apprenticeships, and job training programs, giving them valuable real-world experience.
- Aligsn the program with regional workforce needs, preparing students for high-demand, high-wage careers through partnerships with Texas Institutions of Higher Education (IHEs) and local businesses, ensuring access to both college-level education and workforce training.
